Music Weeklies Pieces

I sporadically participate in Music Weeklies composing competitions (more a prompt than a competition). Here's my latest, for the Wanderlust theme:

Re: Controllers

Leak suggests the Steam Controller is going to be $99. I'd been planning on picking one up to experiment with, but if that's what they cost, I'll try to get my hands on one for a bit before buying one myself.

Framework eGPU

https://www.theverge.com/gadgets/915328/framework-oculink-egpu-dev-kit-laptop-16

Looks like Framework is building an eGPU dock. This is making me lean much more toward Framework for my next machine, since I ultimately want to use an eGPU to share with a laptop and gaming handheld. Although I'm not ...

Saw this recently: https://www.xteink.com/products/xteink-x4 The xteink devices are small e-readers designed to magnetically attach to the back of your phone. If we're talking *solo* solo, this is a great piece by Don Ross. Matt introduced me to him when I introduced him to metal; as you'll hear we met in the middle

Caught Springsteen and the E Street Band last night. Whole show was amazing, but the real standout solo was Tom Morello at the end of The Ghost of Tom Joad. Here's a video from the Minneapolis show on the tour

Controllers

Much as we all love the standard gamepad, there's tons more controller styles out there, and people continue to make new ones. This thread is for discussing non-standard game controllers. Inspired by this one, a new knob controller for the Genesis:

Re: Wii - a stolen design, ad campaign, and legacy?

Maybe "unsatisfying" was the wrong word. It would have been better to say it was a anti-climactic. I was hoping to get some technical analysis on how the two systems work, and I didn't. As friendly as their marketing and games are, Nintendo is absolutely ruthless as a company, so I'm not going to ...

Re: Wii - a stolen design, ad campaign, and legacy?

Kind of an unsatisfying watch. Neat to learn about this company I hadn't previously heard of, but the crux of the legal question, whether Nintendo violated XaviX's patents or used another technology for motion detection in the Wiimote, isn't answered, and we don't even get a gesture at an answer. I ...
